London-based designer, Merel Karhof showed off her wind-powered knitting machine and the London Design Festival, atop the YCN building. Powered by a wind turbine, the machine churns out a knitted stream. The stream is then harvested into individual scarves. On a windy day, one scarf can be produced in two hours. Now that is design put to good use.
