South of Hilo on the Big Island, the screened living room overlooks the canopied gardens and connects to the 500-square-foot sun deck. Two king-size master bedrooms frame the morning birdsong in the kipuka (an island of land engulfed by lava flow); we like the suggestion to start your day with a warm outdoor shower, yoga on the lanai, and a walk to the beach.
