A Day at the IDC Building

To get a feel for a day in the life of one of Denver’s design destinations, we let top architectural photographer Parrish Ruiz de Velasco roam the showrooms of the IDC Building. Here’s what he saw.

One building off of 6th Avenue is shaking up Denver’s design scene. The IDC Building (short for International Design Collection) is the largest home design collective to take root in Denver since the Denver Design District, housing some of the city’s top showrooms all under one roof.

The building, which opened its doors in May 2019, currently houses 14 showrooms specializing in everything from custom kitchens and designer lighting to plumbing fixtures to flooring and rugs. But while the showrooms are spread out across three floors, the buildings’ some 60,000 square feet of interior space leaves plenty of room for other uses. On the third floor, over 1,700 square feet is dedicated to the IDC Event Center, a flex space that’s perfect for meetings, conferences, classes, fundraising events and intimate gatherings. For more space, there are options to hold cocktail hours and mingling throughout the adjoining kitchen, bath, lighting and fireplace showrooms or rent the whole building for a true extravaganza.

To get a feel for a day in the life at the IDC Building, we let top architectural photographer Parrish Ruiz de Velasco roam the showrooms, capturing some beautiful scenes. Check out his photo essay below.

What’s wonderful about being a part of the IDC is that our clients can see all the components they need for their projects in one place. The whole kitchen package can be completed with hardware, plumbing, lighting and flooring between all of the companies within the IDC.

The greatest thing about the IDC is the sense of collaboration. Each showroom’s services and products are believed in and supported by every company in the building. This makes for the highest quality one-stop-shop for designers, builders, architects—and the public!

The IDC specializes in fixtures that you really need to touch and feel to understand fully. Ultra Design Center’s showroom enables product interaction in a multitude of ways, including with an extensive live plumbing display ranging from tubs to steam showers.
