“This image really sums up our time in Tokyo. The Meguro river is lined with hundreds of cherry trees, and over our six months there, we’d walk along its banks daily. Over months, we watched the monochromatic winter slowly make way for a vibrant, saturated spring. Then, one weekend in early April, the cherry blossoms / sakura exploded in a wave of white and pink, accompanied by waves of Tokyoites looking to appreciate the beauty of nature — and the fleeting nature of beauty.” – Jamie Kripke
