Twin brothers Victor and Sergio Sanz Pont have truly spread their creativity and design expertise all over the world. In 2004, they founded their architecture and design firm, sanzpont [arquitectura], in Barcelona, with the goal of bringing creativity, user focus, and environmental respect to international projects both large and small.
Their efforts paid off. A few years later, they opened another office in Cancún, Mexico, followed by a third in Chicago in 2015. The U.S. branch operates under the direction of the Sanz Pont brothers’ partner and longtime friend, Alvaro Licona, and together the trio is more focused than ever on connecting people with their lived environments, especially cities, in logical, surprising, and sustainable ways.
Recently the firm worked with S-Arch, Sagebrush Development, and Mile Hi Modern to create 29ZEN, a new residential development on 29th Avenue and Zenobia Street in Denver. The series of 14 townhomes draws on modern forms and colors while preserving distinctly Colorado feel through its use of white, textured marble cladding the exterior of the building. In each unit, the dining and living areas are located on the third floor, providing direct access to the rooftop and encouraging time spent outdoors. The result is a project that feels highly individual, yet comfortably in-step with the character of the Highlands neighborhood.
